ABU DHABI, (PIC)-- "The National" newspaper, the mouthpiece of Abu Dhabi government, has revealed Saturday that Dubai police would issue an arrest warrant against Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu if the Israeli Mossad was behind the killing of Hamas leader Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh two weeks ago in the tiny Gulf Emirate.
"In the event the Mossad (Israel's external intelligence apparatus) is proven to be behind the assassination of Mabhouh, then Netanyahu would become wanted to the Dubai judiciary because he would be the one who signed the death order", the paper quoted Lt. Gen. Dhahi Khalfan, the chief of Dubai police, as saying.
Although Khalfan didn’t officially hold the Mossad responsible for the murder, but he said that he doesn’t rule out such a possibility, the paper added.
Meanwhile, the Irish Herald newspaper disclosed that members of the Mossad team that assassinated Mabhouh were carrying Irish passports.
The paper quoted the spokesman of the Irish foreign ministry Friday as saying, "We are in contact with the local authorities to know the accuracy of those reports".
Hamas has charged the Mossad with assassinating Mabhouh, who was one of the founders of Hamas's military wing the Qassam Brigades, in his room in the Bustan hotel in Dubai on the 20th of January.
