Obama vows permanent support to Israel; rejects Hamas

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- US Democratic presidential  candidate for the 2008 elections Barack Obama has vowed on Thursday full and permanent support to the Israeli occupation government, saying he won't talk to Hamas Movement.

Remarks of Obama came as he visited occupied Palestine and met with Israeli leaders before he paid a visit to the Buraq Wall, which Jews calls "Wailing Wall" in a step that was seen by political observers as an attempt from him to gain the support and blessing of the influential Jewish lobby in the United Sates to win the presidential elections there.

He also asserted that he was "a friend of Israel", and that he won't pressure Israel into giving compromises that would jeopardize security of the Hebrew state during peace negotiations with the Palestinians.

Furthermore, the US senator alleged that "the state of Israel was facing enemies hell-bent on destroying it, but Israel will always find a friend and an ally in the USA".

In another obvious step to rally more support for him from the Jewish lobby in the USA, Obama threatened that the USA won't tolerate a nuclear Iran in the region, and that all options, including the military option, were open in dealing with Iran.

In this regard, Obama urged extreme policies coupled with harsh punishments that, he said, could force the Iranians "to review their options".

Obama also visited the Israeli settlement of Sderot where he was shown pieces of Palestinian homemade reockets fired by the resistance at the settlement.

Records from concerned Palestinian and human rights organisations confirm that the Israeli occupation government had killed more than 500 Palestinian citizens in the Gaza Strip in the first six months of this year, including tens of sick Palestinian citizens denied permits to leave abroad to seek medical treatment not available in the Strip. Obama would not have been briefed on this.

In addition, Obama demonstrated full support for Israel's stand of not negotiating with Hamas Movement, which also harmonizes with the stand of the current US administration.
