Ramon: Recognition of a "Jewish state" important as it means no right of return

Palestinians uprooted from their homes in 1948 and replaced by Jewish immigrants from Erope

NAZARETH, (PIC)-- Israeli vice Premier Haim Ramon stressed that Palestinian recognition of Israel as a "Jewish state" is important as it means dropping the right of  return of millions of refugees who were uprooted from their homes and land sixty years ago.

"The recognition is important because it is part of the Palestinian recognition that the solution to the Palestinian refugee problem is the return of the refugees to a Palestinian state," Ramon told ambassadors of the EU on Thursday afternoon, according to Israeli radio on Friday.

He was also reported as saying: "A Palestinian state is the solution for the Palestinian refugees, just like Israel was the solution for the Jewish refugee problem."

The PA presidency and the unconstitutional government of Fayyad are calling for negotiating the Palestinian refugee problem and resolving it in a "just and agreed upon manner," without a mention of the right of return in accordance with natural rights and UN resolutions.

This has stirred fears in the Palestinian street that the PA President and his unconstitutional government are on their way to giving up the right of millions of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and land. If they do, the majority of Palestinians would condemn them.

when are the palestinian idiots of Gaza ever going to understand that they have no "rights" now or ever in the future to squat in the State of Israel . This "right" is akin to the Mexican government insisting that it has the "right" to settle millions of mexicans illegally all over the USA. Keep dreaming, but you can be sure that Israel does NOT recognize your "rights, except to the palestinian state - -Jordan

Arab Jews welcome to return

The so called expulsion of Jews from Arab lands was part of the Zionist plot, taking into consideration that the regimes installed in those countries after the so called independence from British, French and Italian occupation were subservient to those powers. Zionists will always try to hide the fact that Arab and Muslim countries were always the safe haven for Jews when they were persecuted in Europe. I talked to an old Iraqi Jew who yearns to go back to Iraq and remembers the good old days in the country of his birth. I talked to Iraqi Muslims who had Jewish neighbours and they tell me how sad they felt when they left. Jews were not persecuted in the Arab world and I am sure the Arab countries would welcome back Jews who originally lived there.
Right of Return: response to Shayne Punim

The State of Israel came into existence at the cost of the dispossession and ethnic cleansing of the indigenous Palestinian Arab population. United Nations General Assembly Resolution 194 states quite clearly that these people have the right to return and live in peace with their neighbours. The Right of Return is an inalienable and personal right. The term "squatting", used by Punim is applicable to the Jewish colonists in the Palestinian Occupied Territories. Palestinians AND Jordanians will never accept Jordan as the Palestinian state as you imply. With Israel changing into a racist Apartheid state and making the two state solution impossible it is much more likely that in the years to come the focus of the struggle will be for democracy and equality in one state for all: Moslems, Jews and Christians. I will support that wholeheartedly.
