Thabit urges Ki-moon to address rights of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon
[ 10/01/2012 - 10:13 AM ]

BEIRUT, (PIC)-- Thabit organization for the right of return appealed to UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon to pressure the Lebanese government to provide the Palestinian refugees with their social and civil rights.

This came in a letter sent to Ki-moon through his envoy in Beirut Robert Watkins on Monday.

Thabit said in its letter that granting the Palestinian refugees their social and civil rights, especially with regard to employment and ownership, does not conflict with the Lebanese constitution and the Palestinians' right to return to their homeland Palestine.

Ki-moon is expected to pay a special visit to Lebanon next Friday.
