GAZA, (PIC)-- One man was killed and three others were injured on Monday evening as a result of a mysterious explosion in a Volkswagen mini-bus, at the Shati refugee camp to the west of Gaza City.

Dr. Muaweya Hasanin, head of emergency services told PIC correspondent that the explosion which took place near the Ibadul-Rahman Mosque, close to the house of Prime Minister Ismail Haneyya, resulted in the death of one person and the wounding of three others.

Local sources named the man killed in the explosion as Muhammad Kalloub (36 years) who was an officer in the defunct preventive security.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior in the Gaza Strip has opened, at a late hour Monday night, an investigation into the explosion.
