NEW YORK, (PIC)-- Fillipo Grandi, the commissioner general of UNRWA, told the UN radio on Tuesday that his agency was in need of 50 million dollars so as to continue extending basic services to Palestinian refugees in 2010.

He added that UNRWA faces a budget deficit of 50 million dollars, noting that the total budget for 2010 is estimated at 583 million dollars.

Grandi said that if UNRWA is to extend qualitative services it would need 70 to 80 million dollars more, a thing that the Agency could not secure for years.
