DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Khaled Mishaal, the head of Hamas political bureau, strongly denounced on Friday the authority of Mahmoud Abbas for withdrawing its support for UN investigator Richard Goldstone’s report on Israeli war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
“We are shocked today … this is a shame … the blood of children and women in Gaza will curse those who renounced the Palestinian blood,” Mishaal said in his speech during a ceremony held in the context of celebrating Jerusalem as the capital of Arab culture in Damascus.
The Hamas leader, in another context, congratulated the Palestinian women on their release from Israeli jails on Friday, confirming that this achievement is attributed to the Palestinian resistance alone who would never forsake the release of all prisoners and the restoration of all Palestinian usurped rights.
He highlighted that the Palestinian resistance knows well the kind of language understood by Israeli leaders and as it was able to capture Gilad Shalit and keep him in a safe place for several years it could capture others like him to swap them for Palestinian prisoners.
With regard to the inter-Palestinian reconciliation, the Hamas leader said that despite the pains caused by the practices of Abbas’s authority, his Movement has no choice but to achieve the reconciliation in order to rearrange the Palestinian house.
Mishaal also suggested during his speech a comprehensive plan aimed at placing the occupied city of Jerusalem at the top of the Arab and Muslim agenda, and stressed his rejection of any final solution excluding or postponing the issue of the holy city.
